The ProblemThe old metal detector did not meet new regulations. Before installation could be carried out, the existing unit required removal, with modifications to the line and belts.

Our SolutionA new replacement metal detector was manufactured for MJM to install. Once the old unit was removed, modifications as required were carried out to the frame work and structure to create sufficient space for the longer new metal detector conveyor. With the long conveyor belt being shortened, and effectively now two conveyors, a new motor gear box was installed to drive the remainder of the chain along the modified conveyor.
The new metal detector waste/metal detected products would be discharged into a new chute that would house the defective product in a lockable container for further investigation.
Once the installation was complete, commissioning of the line is carried out to ensure the transfer of product from one conveyor to the next is achieved.
